Overview

As a Branch Manager in HBL’s Islamic Banking Division, you will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the branch’s daily operations. Your primary focus will be to manage customer relationships, ensure operational excellence, and drive business growth through strategic planning and team development. You will be responsible not only for ensuring compliance with internal policies and Shariah guidelines but also for fostering a culture of service excellence and high performance within your team.

This is a high-impact role that requires a proactive mindset, sound financial acumen, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of Islamic banking principles. You will report directly to regional leadership and will act as a key contributor to the success of the bank’s strategic initiatives in your assigned territory

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Relationship Management
  First and foremost, you must build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers. Understand their financial needs and recommend suitable Islamic banking products and services that align with Shariah principles. Your goal is to provide a personalized experience that promotes loyalty and enhances customer satisfaction.
• Sales Monitoring and Target Achievement
  Then, you will be expected to lead your branch sales team in developing and executing effective action plans. Set achievable goals and monitor individual and team performance regularly. Proactively identify sales opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell banking products while ensuring all activities remain within ethical and Islamic banking frameworks.
• Service Delivery and Operational Excellence
  Additionally, maintain a high standard of service delivery across all touchpoints. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of transactions while resolving customer complaints efficiently. Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Compliance and Risk Management
  At the same time, ensure full adherence to the bank’s internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on the latest developments in Islamic finance and ensure your branch operates in full compliance with both local laws and Islamic banking principles. Take a proactive approach to identify and mitigate risks.
• Staff Training and Performance Development
  Moreover, take ownership of your team’s growth. Provide regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, service standards, and compliance awareness. Ensure employees have the necessary skills to perform their roles efficiently and confidently.
• Coaching and Leadership
  Offer continuous coaching, performance feedback, and motivation to your team members. Foster an inclusive, goal-oriented, and collaborative environment that empowers your staff to excel. Your leadership will directly impact the branch’s performance and employee engagement.
• Budget and Expense Management
  Lastly, monitor the branch’s budget and control operational expenses to remain within approved limits. Review expenditure regularly and identify areas where cost efficiencies can be introduced without compromising service quality.

Qualifications

• Education:
  A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Islamic Finance will be considered an added advantage.
• Experience:
  A minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in the banking sector, with at least 2 years in a leadership or branch management role. Previous experience in Islamic banking or a similar financial institution will be preferred.
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong knowledge of Islamic banking products and Shariah-compliant financial services
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of achieving sales and service targets
  • Sound understanding of financial regulations and risk management practices
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking systems
